Building a more sustainable future
As an evolved family firm with a strong business ethos,we are committed to sharing our core values within the community we are based in.
Our business sustainability programme : We are conscious that we live and work in one of the most beautiful parts of the country and in a listed building at the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We have an active recycling programme, keep energy usage to the minimum and, where possible, purchase goods and services locally. Broadley Speaking was a sponsor of the Oxford Climate Forum.
Supporting the local community: Supporting the local community has always been very important to us. Our team members have been active in local schools supporting them with management and project management skills and supporting English and Business Studies students in learning marketing and sales skills.
We have taken work experience placements from local schools and are actively involved in the governments apprenticeship programme
Supporting local and national charities: On a monthly basis we raise funds for a team nominated charity these have included The Alzheimer’s Society, Oxfam, Help for Heroes,Breast Cancer Awareness, Diabetes UK, Bristol Children s Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Each year we try and involve ourselves in one major fundraising event. These have included a fire walk, raising a £1000 for Robert Owen Communities ( ROC) who support adults with learning difficulties; a team commando challenge for CHICKS; abseiling for Macmillan Cancer and supporting local organisations in their fundraising activities.
Promoting flexible working: Since the company’s inception it has promoted and encouraged true flexible working for all team members. Whilst our work is crucial to us all, little is more important than the families and health that sustain us so allowing time to accommodate these is crucial to maintaining a highly focused and motivated team.
